Creating sustainable opportunities at sea

The world needs renewable energy. This must also be operated in an environmentally friendly manner.

Offshore wind is a growing source of renewable energy. To operate the ever-increasing number of offshore wind farms, there is a great need for ships that can transport technicians to and from the wind turbines to carry out installation and maintenance work.

GC Rieber Shipping has developed Windkeeper, a service vessel for offshore wind farms, specially designed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, increase comfort for the technicians on board and reduce the cost of operating offshore wind farms. Two Windkeeper ships are now under construction and will be delivered in 2025.

Windkeeper builds on GC Rieber Shipping’s long experience from developing ship designs and investing in profitable and sustainable maritime projects. GC Rieber Shipping’s strategy is to create value through project development, which is why we call ourselves a project house.

At GC Rieber Shipping, we have positions in several interesting areas:

  • Ship design
  • Shipyard follow-up
  • Market / chartering
  • Sustainability
  • Economy
